Questions We Had About How to Kill Bed Bugs
I began work on this site after noticing an increase in people and places reporting their devastating battles with bed bugs. The stories were frightening and heart-wrenching. I wanted to answer a few basic questions. How do you prevent bed bugs? After all, it’s best not to get the problem in the first place. If you have them, how do you get rid of them without sacrificing lots of money and peace of mind?
I worked for a number of years in the pest control industry, advising property owners, restaurants, and nursing homes on how to get rid of pests using as many chemical-free processes as possible. So I was very interested in what the professionals are doing today to get rid of bed bugs. Do they employ any chemical-free means? If so, how effective are they?
It quickly became clear to me that if I had bed bugs, I’d want to hire the pros who use heat treatments as quickly as possible. But the truth is that many people can’t afford their services. So what’s the next best thing?
I scoured the Internet, dropping in on forums and other places where people were discussing their battles and successes with eradicating bed bug infestations. I began to see a few patterns emerge in the success stories. But if the methods they used worked, why were they working? What about the solutions made them effective? And how easily could they be duplicated?
These are some of the questions I wanted to address with this website.

Our team has put a lot of time and effort into finding out the problems that cause people the biggest headaches with bed bugs and then finding solutions to them. As anyone who has dealt with these dreaded insects knows, the solutions are not at all easy. These insects have survived throughout the centuries for a reason.
This site is based on content gathered from government sources, including the EPA and National Institutes of Health, and other well-respected sources. To put together this website, I also studied pest control journals to find out what the experts do. I read lots of websites, articles, and other content in which real people discuss their experiences.
What I am left with is a profound recognition of the level of pain, frustration, and desperation living with these insects can cause families.
